We set some instructions out below which, although they might seem obvious, will help you to take the measurements for a shower enclosure more quickly and accurately

Firstly, and in all cases, you have to take into account the shape of the edging of the shower tray: square or rounded (square edging or rounded edging).

rounded edging

When the tray is not rounded (square edging), you take the measurement from the edge.

And when it is rounded, you have to take the measurement from the point where the curve (of the edging) finishes.

Once you have got this clear, you can go ahead and take the measurements. The procedure differs according to how the walls are and what type of shower tray you have.

BETWEEN WALLS

For enclosures that are going to be fitted between walls, you always need to take three measurements (A, B and C) at three different heights, as shown in the diagram. This is because the space between the walls is very unlikely to be equidistant all the way up.

Take the measurements shown in the diagram, from the outside of the tray to the wall on both sides (A and B).

In this case, take the three measurements (A, B and C) shown in the diagram, but bearing in mind what we said at the beginning about whether the edging of the shower tray is square or rounded.

You also need to check whether the walls are true or not. If they are not, you also need to take the measurements (A and B) shown in the diagram.

For these kinds of shower tray you need to take five measurements, two of the longest sides of the tray along the wall (A and B), plus the measurements (C, D and E) shown in the diagram.

As you can see, it is a very straightforward procedure and you just need to remember the details we have explained.

Once you have taken all the measurements, all that’s left to do is choose which bathroom enclosure you want and exactly which details you want it to have.
